Active Learning Connection, Inc. (ALC) was established to help meet the community education and training needs of all ages through consulting to sustain programming offered by diverse nonprofits. ALC ultimately provides personal and social change through accessible and engaging community education, training, and related consulting services, creating opportunities for community discussions resulting in a better future for all.

One of Our Most Recent Impact Stories

Active Learning Connection/ALC significantly impacted the Adams County Humane Society/ACHS, located in the fifth poorest county in the state. ALC provided consulting, grant writing, fundraising, and facilitated strategic planning. ALC secured a $2,500 grant for van repairs, initiated a Walmart grant opportunity for $2,000, created new fundraisers, acquired $4,372.50 in Kong chew toys, negotiated participation in a UW Veterinary School feline wellness program, planned a youth essay contest, planned a cat bed sewing project, planned a pet food pantry drive through local churches, secured high end prizes for a raffle fundraiser, encouraged a partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and high school athletes to create an annual fun run, enhanced volunteer management, guided the process to adopt an updated HR handbook, and advised the Board of Directors. As Christine Parks, Board of Directors, ACHS, stated, "For these reasons, I recommend ALC."

Our Current Grant Requests

Active Learning Connection has submitted grant requests to fund several community programs that we've designed and would like to implement.

These include an intergenerational volunteer sewing project to create cat beds for a humane society, a youth essay contest to promote animal welfare and community education, a computer drop-in center at a VFW for veterans, and fun art classes for seniors at senior housing sites.

These initiatives aim to empower individuals, promote animal welfare, bridge the digital divide for veterans, connect seniors experiencing loneliness, to better serve rural and poor areas, and foster creativity while building community.

Serving Needs Throughout Wisconsin

Active Learning Connection's future goals for community impact extend throughout the state of Wisconsin. By providing trainings, community education, and related services at below-market rates for nonprofits, veterans, seniors, and those in poor and rural areas, ALC aims to create lasting, positive change across the state.
